Kickstart Worship - Share: Going Fishing, Reflecting Light

What if sharing our faith was never supposed to feel like a burden in the first place? This message takes a fresh look at one of the most misunderstood callings in the Christian life, the call to be a witness. Drawing from the closing words of Matthew 28, where Jesus commissions his disciples with all authority behind him, we are reminded that the Great Commission is not a guilt trip but an invitation into something deeply natural. Just as we eagerly tell a friend about a hidden gem of a restaurant or a show we cannot stop thinking about, we are wired to share the things that have genuinely changed us. The problem is not that we lack the desire. It is that somewhere along the way we convinced ourselves that our faith is a private matter. But there is a crucial difference between faith being personal and faith being private, and scripture does not support the latter. We are challenged to reclaim a simpler, more authentic understanding of what it means to witness, one that starts not with a rehearsed script but with an honest story of what Jesus has done in our own lives.
