Whatever - 8/03/14

So, you know, it is what it is, but
Americans are annoyed by the use of "whatever" in conversations.  It can be an all-purpose argument-ender or a signal of apathy. And it can really be annoying. The poll found "whatever" to be consistently disliked by Americans regardless of their race, gender, age, income or where they live.Did you know that the Bible has a whole different take on whatever?

Joy: A Serious Business - 7/27/14

As the Church we expect way too little from each other. That we see each other and hear each other and decide, “Oh, that’s “so and so,” she’ll never change…he’s always been that way . Your new preacher says, “That’s sinking thinking!” And that in Christ Jesus there can and will be joy for all who desire to seek Him.

Show Me the Prodigal- 7/20/14

Prodigal, which shows up no where in the parable "The Prodigal Son", means "a wasteful person, a spendthrift." Interestingly, prodigal also has a second meaning, seemingly contrary to the first. This second definition is "profuse in giving, exceedingly abundant."  Wonder whats going on here.....

The Least of These - 6/22/14

It is good to do good things in the name of Jesus.  What might happen, though, if we do good things as if we are doing them for Jesus?
